Peter Dunn
Hi, I'm Peter, an experienced counsellor with a graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling validated by Napier University and significant post-qualification training. This qualifies me to work with individuals and couples on a range of issues.
I work in private practice on a range of issues, and as a relationship counsellor with Counselling Highland (what many people would think of as ‘Relate’). I use their offices in View Place Inverness as a central location for my private work. Normally I only work face-to-face, not online.
Most counsellors, usually as a requirement of their training, have had counselling themselves and I’m no exception. Thus I have a deep understanding of how we go through adjusting to major changes and what it’s like to be a client. It’s helped me get through the school of life and reach a grounded place that counsellors need to keep their own stuff out of the counselling room and focus on you.

In a previous life I worked to develop individuals and organisations through coaching and facilitation, gaining an MSc along the way and becoming a qualified NLP Practitioner. ( Neuro-linguistic Programming is a toolkit for thinking and communicating.)

I'm registered with the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) which is the UK's main body regulating the quality of these services and with COSCA, the equivalent for Scotland. I uphold their codes of ethics. I am also a counselling supervisor (mentor) and I'm a member of the British EFT (Emotionally Focussed Therapy) community.
